Croc Hunter gets bitten by the press and child protection agencies after parading his one month old baby “Bob” within a meter of a big saltwater crocodile. Does that make him as bent as whacko Jacko?. The press are drawing parallels.
The manner in which he even hadled Bob was reckless. A one month old needs their neck supported don’t they?. What if he had slipped over.

I think it was a very stupid act on croc hunters part to do what he did, as a mum I find it hard to imagine why his mum let that happen but then she thinks he is gods gift i spose and idolises the ground he walks on, I would not have alowed it. One wrong step and he would have regreted it for the rest of his life. The thing that amazes me is that he really doesnt understand what all the commotion is about. Does he think he is above everyone else and what could have happened?

Well said Cat..
He’s still in the running for Australian of the year.
But it’s safe to rule him out for Father of the year. -

only the ‘press’ said he was a metre from the croc.. people who were there say it was a lot futher than that and quite safe….
spose every one who puts a child in a car and drives on the road is guilty of the same risk….

The “new” footage proves nothing to me. He neglected to put the seat belt on Bob that day. Those crocs are used to taking food from Steve’s hands. If there were 44 experienced croc handlers around they still could not have opened jaws that can compress up to 37 pounds per square inch. If he said “It was a mistake, I lost my head for a minute.” It would all be over. Terry is just as silly and as much to blame.
Steve is no whacko jacko though.

Who are we to judge, cant rely on the press to get it right.
He made a error in judgement, he allowed the press in. Im sure he was well in control of the situation. All the ‘what ifs’ didnt happen.
Forgot to buckle up the kids, left them at home while we popped down the shop, left them in the car while we popped in the shop. All risks.
I know I have made plenty errors of judgement as a parent,. sometimes my kids probably thought they were in the croc pen. There are kids being abused, raped and beaten daily every day, they are the ones who the media could help. -

I have to agree with you Mish Mash. As parents we all make decisions that could be classed as reckless and putting our childrens lives at risk, but for a person in the public eye to carry out such actions, with the media present is asking for trouble.
I’m sure he knew what he was doing – I myself as a mother would not allow my child near crocs though, no matter how many people were nearby or how experienced the person holding my child was.
Now apparently he is being investigated for several other instances with dangerous animals such as the time a carpet snake bit a channel 10 reporter at the logies and for taking a brown snake on another TV show – now, people have to remember this guys passion and job is to play with wild and dangerous animals – maybe he just wants to share this and try and make others more comfortable with out native fauna????
