Where all the cool wheelchair people hang out
Home › Forum › General Chit-Chat › General Discussion › Broken hoist
For those of you that are not sure what i mean a hoist is a device that helps me transfer myself from my chair to bed. There were no problems with it for years it only really started having falts id say the last couple of years it would jam id press the buttons for it to move but nothing would happen its been fixed a fair bit and is checked often. It finally broke the other day in many ways i was glad because i dident really feel comfortable using it towards the end i just never knew when it was going to stop working again. Im currently using a portable one its a bit fiderly theres not much space for my legs it also needs charging but as long as it works im happy. I have used thease kind of hoists in the past there not great but they do the job. I am waiting for a new one to be put in i dont know how long it could take hopfully ill have one before the end of the year. Hoists are VERY imported to people like me and to people that have difficulty getting out of bed if things break its not a nice situation to be in let me put it this way no hoists no wheelchairs. I also think that every disabled house needs a spare hoist just in case of an emergancy like this
