Where all the cool wheelchair people hang out

Hi all!
I am a current university student studying Product Design, I about to undertake a project entitled Accessible Wheelchair Storage for School Equipment.
I have found that accessing belonging is a huge problem for wheelchair users and I really want to be able to do something to help. My focus for this project will be on students in high school but I hope to be able to move this on and develop it for every wheelchair user.
It would be so helpful to hear about how people cope with this kind of problem on a daily basis. Or what kinds of issues are related to having minimal storage within a reachable distance. For instance I have read that many people keep bags on their handlebars which without help are a difficult to access. Is this the most effective way you have found to store belongings? What are the issues faced when you have a lot to carry, such as heavy books?
Please let me know if you would like to have some more information. Thanks so much for reading I hope you can share your stories and experiences so that I can develop a product that is truly helpful to wheelchair users!
Thanks,
Hannah
