Where all the cool wheelchair people hang out

Hi :P
My name is Sarah – I am a clinical lead carer for a C3 ventilated tetraplegic in Lincolnshire UK. As we seem to have exhausted all avenues medically I thought I would come and see what I could find online, and here I am! What a great website!
The question is a relatively simple one, like a lot of SCI people my client (who I am currently trying to persuade to check out this site for himself!) suffers with ‘false hand syndrome’ as we have named it. ie he has a set of hands that he moves around etc in his head … no problem in itself but the trouble is that generally to him they feel freezing cold! We have tried all from passive movements to mittens, hot water bottles, visualising beaches etc but to no avail! Short of actually coming to good old Aus to spend the rest of his days on a beach, does anyone have any tips for the cold hands and feet?
Thanks for such a great and informative website!
Sarah
