Hey all,
My name is Tim and I’ve been in a wheelchair for over 14 years due to a very rare neuromuscular disease called Polymyositis (PM) and an auto accident December 14, 2000. The accident left my spinal cord compressed at L2/3 and with that and the PM I’m permanently in the chair. I’ve got allot of weakness from the PM but am almost completely independent. I do need help showering and dressing but otherwise I’m good. I’ve been totally paralyzed thanks to a doctor who didn’t know anything about PM and was gonna let me die. Fortunately I was able to get it Indiana University hospital in time for the doctor there to save my life and thanks to his knowledge and efforts I am doing well again. I do IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) treatments every 4 weeks and that with allot of therapy and allot of miracles I’m doing well. I did have to spend 2 1/2 years in a nursing home but thankfully I’ve been out for over 7 years.
I’m hoping to find a really nice woman who can see past the chair and see the man who’s sitting in it. I’m hopeful this site might be the place to find that. I really don’t care if you’re in a wheelchair or not cause I am. I’d really love to meet the women of my dreams that I could have a real relationship but at this point I’d take friends. If there’s anyone interested let me know….
