This, very dull, rainy and cold weekend in the UK we have been “celebrating” 60 years of the queen’s reign It’s been a bit weird, to be honest, I remember her silver jubilee I was 10, and there was much more fuss then, it’s all gone by in a bit of a none event sort of a fashion, there have been street parties, and such like but I don’t know, there doesn’t seem to be the enthusiasm there was all those years ago, or maybe I just noticed it a bit more because I was younger, really, kind of the same could be said of the Royal Wedding, it all seemed a lot of money and fuss, when the country is financially bereft, Oh and all the shops stay open now, so there just doesn’t seem the same sense of occasion.
