Here’s the scenario. My guy, who has an SCI at T12, developed high blood pressure after his injury and was put on meds for that in 2002. It has been controlled up until the last year or so when it suddenly bottoms out when his pain levels are high or he has an issue in an area where he doesn’t have sensation, like his body is giving a hint. At first I wondered about AD but was told his injury is too low for that. Last week he was started on a med to keep his BP up, while still instructed to take the meds to lower it.. the physician indicated the meds worked in different ways and wouldn’t cause his BP to skyrocket. But it is now running high. I’m not asking anyone to give a medical opinion, or practice without a license :), but do any of you experience any odd BP issues? The docs here don’t treat many SCI’s so I’m tossing this out there to see if I’m missing something obvious. Thanks everyone!
