MemberHow is everyone coping with the heat? (those posters in the southern hemisphere)
Personally, I am in a tin shed about 45 degrees with a fan, whilst my house is being built. Use the open breeze, ice blocks, and cold water, cold shower method of keeping cool.
Or just sit by the dam in the shade of the Ironbark trees…. sipping Stella Artois and watching the wildlife….

ParticipantTo coin an Aussie phrase I’m “freezing my bullocks off” here in the semi northern hemisphere. 19 below again this morning. Your dam sounds lovely.

InactiveIt has been very hot but in Queensland its not so much the temps its the humidity. Where I used to live it was nothing to be 40deg for days or more so having the temps in the 30s isnt so bad but for me the humidity is the killer and with all these storms it must be up close to 100% lol
and when the power is off well cant even have a fan on we lost power for about 19 hours the other night not good at all, I was lucky though most ppl were cooking everything in their freezers but mine has a good seal and all was still frozen, we had a tree come down but it went parallel with the fence line so no damage not like some ppls homes over 7 million Dollars worth of damage the last 4 days with these storms not good at all. -

KeymasterAnything over 32C and I start to feel ill. So I hold a wet tshirt contest where sadly I’m the only entrant. If that doesn’t work I put my air-con on. The girls said the shopping center’s are full.

Pahahaahaa… Yeah.. I’m so far up myself NO one else has a chance. But if your spunkiness and Cat are looking for a white tshirt water fight we’ll see you at sex77’s billabong. No underwear allowed. And expect to be frisked prior to entry. Bring all the Lara Crofts you like, we’ll still kick your ass or drown trying. :)

MemberOk, everybody is invited. I can see the trees swaying gently in the breeze. The big Ironbark has two boughs that rub against each other and make the most natural sound of wood on wood. The ducks swim on the dam with the pretty-face wallabies close by, sipping at the waters edge.
The coals are hot enough for the billy tea, and the damper is on.
A little blow on the gum leaf sounds “Tea’s ready”
Who’s up first?
