Finally hubby had Suprapubic inserted

Hi all,
My hubby had his SP fitted yesterday he is sore but fine or so we thought…4am this morning he has urine coming from the penis making him soaked as well as urine and blood draining into the catheter bag. I phone A&E and was advised to come in. The doctor said it is just the bladder settling….The consultant didn’t mention this would/might happen.

Is this common for urine to come though the penis as well as drain into the bag? They said it should settle in a few days.
