I hate hospitals. I know many people who’ve gone in and came out worse. Much worse in some cases.

I’ve never had much time in hospital as a patient thankfully – plenty of times visiting and I would have to say from what I’ve seen the private hospitals are lacking in nursing care considerably compared to our public hospitals.

Yeh. Golden staff for one can be nasty if not detected early, and lets face it.
Hospitals are reluctant to diagnose it. -

Baa Hospitals the only thing theyre interested in is getting you out asap Caboolture hospital I know for a fact is so stretched they discharge you without even being seen by a doctor after surgery and thus you end up back there for another op. They say NZ has a bad health system which they have but Australia is catching up real fast.

True: we seem to be following one country or another. At least in NZ quadriplegics aren’t allowed to leave until they have a wheelchair and carer support in place. Usualy government funded. But their waiting lists for elective surgery combined with GST is why 1 in 5 living in Brisbane are Kiwi’s.
Don’t even get me started on Australia’s PBS blunder.. “Hey we have a world model Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, let’s see if we can fix it” Duh.
Who needs hospitals?. I got a good staple gun. :)

I know there are so many bad reports about hospitals, but heres a good one. My son had to have emergency surgery at a small country hospital when he was a baby, the hospital doesnt do surgery on babies but because the anesthetist came from Sydney and was experienced doing babies, and the fog was so bad that the plane would not have been able to take off for hours, they decided to do the surgery at about 4 am, the theatre staff and the surgen were there in like 20 mins amazing in itself as you couldnt see past the bonnet of the car. They operated and saved his life, and the after care was top notch including having his own nurse. I couldnt fault anything at all that night or the following week. They not only saved his life but also saved his bowel it had become gangrene from a condition called Meckels Diverticulum (think thats how you spell it) it is where apart of the placenta hasnt atrified and it adheres to the bowel it is thin like a strand of hair and it had wrapped around the bowel causing a blockage and the gangrene. He is a very lucky little boy to have been where he was I guess its a story of being at the right place at the right time. Thank you Grafton Base Hospital

Its nice to hear positive feedback – I have nothing but praise for our local public hospital – especially where children are concerned, they act quickly when necessary and pre and post operative care is excellent. I feel sorry for the nursing staff – they do such an amazing job with often little recognition.

Sure most of the staff are great. From the cleaners to the surgeons. I’ve known and know some dynamite nurses and that sexy little uniform Grrr Baby Yeah!!. There’s always a few bad ones in a crowd that spoil it – a male nurse stole $200 off me once and a doctor has sent me home with a pulmonary embolisim misdiagnosed as pluracy. What an idiot, that could have killed me, was back in hospital 3 months later.

Thats terrible – ie: the money going missing. I think its pretty sad when people use their position to take advantage of others.
Know who he was? I’ll go beat him up for you Graybags! -

A fella just dropped some work off for me. He said a friend went to hospital for a simple op and is still in there.. she developed pressure areas.. she has kids at home.
